Oops!

Our invitations went out yesterday and as some of you may have noticed upon receiving them - we forgot to stamp about half the RSVP Envelopes! Faux Pas! The wedding etiquette gods are severely displeased!

This, of course, was not on purpose. We just stuffed and sealed many of the envelopes before we realized our mistake.

In an attempt to remedy this situation we have likely confused you. We managed to sneak an individual stamp in through the opening in the flap of the envelope. While it's entirely possible that it slipped back out the other flap, or went flying when you took out the invitation -- hopefully if you are one of the folks who we didn't stamp, there'll be a stamp for you to use somewhere in the bottom of the envelope.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Although we're sure the confused look on your face as you opened the invitation and found a random free floating stamp was adorable. Hopefully you'll find our honest mistake adorable!

Are You Married Yet?

So I've been so busy at work and with wedding planning that I've gotten a little behind on blog posts -- I have several more Philadelphia Things To Do to tell you about! But, I thought in the meantime I'd post a little wedding update.

On more than one occasion this week, acquaintances I hadn't seen in a while (ranging from one year to one month), have asked me "Are You Married Yet?". I guess this is the downside of a long engagement (a year and a half isn't a really long engagement, but it's the long side of normal).

But the wedding is looming dangerously close. There's no problem with the whole marrying Matt part of it, just all the planning and stuff to do. Everyone I knew who had recently been married advised us, after our engagement, to do something simple. But we're incapable of simple. I don't regret the crazy wedding extravaganza we concocted, but I won't joke -- it's work!

It seems like every day my Mom tells me someone else has asked about when they're getting their invitations. On the one hand I'm very excited so many people are interested! But I keep assuring my mother that all of the wedding etiquette books say invitations go out 6-8 weeks before the wedding. I swear that's what they say! We are working on them right now, and they'll be going out in a week -- so you can be expecting them soon!

My seamstress is doing the last alterations on my dress but Matt is still looking for a suit (reading over my shoulder he just threatened to get married naked). But he's surprisingly particular about his attire. But he is looking a lot and I'm sure he'll find something he likes.

And we're getting down to the nitty gritty with our caterer. The other day I had to make such earth shattering decisions as will the water be available on the table or served by waiters. Honestly, at the moment, I can't even remember what we decided. But I'm sure having water on the tables or not will be the defining feature of our Reception.

Hopefully after the invitations go out, I'll be back to my once a week blog posting schedule. I have several more posts planned once I have the time to write them. But I'm very excited about the wedding and can't wait to see everyone at the Reception! And I'm very excited to reply to all my occasional acquaintances -- yes, we're finally married!
